The system has been compiled and tested under Windows NT and Windows 2000 running on a 550 MHz Pentium III with 256 MBytes RAM. There are chances that it will work under Windows 98 and Windows XP, but we haven't tried it yet. Software requirements are:

    Compiler

The system has been successfully compiled using Microsoft Visual C++ 6.0. We also managed to build it using Visual C++ .Net.

    Speech Recognizer and Text-To-Speech System

The distribution does not come with its own speech recognizer or text to speech system. Thus, the Microsoft Speech SDK 5.1 is needed.

    Cygwin (optional)

Is a helpful tool for working with the system.

    Java SDK

Is needed for the tutorial, but you can compile and run the dialogue system without having Java installed.

Instructions

Please follow the installation instructions and let us know if you run into problems when compiling the system.
